Power Measurement with the Analog Discovery Pro (ADP5250)

Overview

This demo uses the Analog Discovery Pro's Oscilloscope to measure the power of an RC circuit. Because the oscilloscope only measures voltages, a sensing resistor is used with the Oscilloscope's Math channels to calculate the current passing through the circuit and further the power of each component.

Oscilloscope

The Analog Discovery Pro (ADP5250) can be used with WaveForms’ Oscilloscope instrument to capture analog data via the 2 analog input channels using BNC probes.

Since the Analog Discovery Pro’s analog input channels are shared, the Oscilloscope instrument cannot be used at the same time as the Spectrum Analyzer, Network Analyzer, or Impedance Analyzer instruments.

High Voltage Transistor Tester with the Analog Discovery Pro 5250

This page is under construction.

While you can use the Transistor Tester Adapter to test small signal bipolar junction transistors (BJTs) and field-effect transistors (FETs) with the Analog Discovery 2, several mid- to high power devices are out of the range of these devices. In these cases, you can use the variable voltage supply and the digital multimeter on the ADP5250 to create your high voltage test bench and to plot the ch…
